Purple Frog
Something I wrote while trying out AutoCrit, so blame AutoCrit for any booboos.
Once upon a time, there was a little purple frog who loved to croak, warble, and sing beautiful songs. However, this frog, Dorothy, was all alone in her big pond. One day a handsome prince came walking by and Dorothy thought he was quite delightful. The Prince, Geothedore, knelt down by the side of the pond and started talking to Dorothy, who croaked in response. This didn't seem to put off the Prince and he chatted away, and Dorothy croaked away and they had a very nice time until it was time for Geothedore to leave. Oh, but you haven't heard my beautiful songs! Thought Dorothy, but the next day at the same time the Prince came by again. And Dorothy sang to him a beautiful song. The Prince was charmed!
So, Geothedore and Dorothy had a lovely time each day at the edge of the pond. One day, the Prince didn't come. Oh no! Dorothy was beside herself wondering if he was alright and would ever come back. The next day the Prince did come back and he said to Dorothy, "I have a magic potion here, and I wonder if you could answer my question?" Dorothy was intrigued, and a little scared because magic potions aren't always magic for the good, especially for frogs. Dorothy nodded and the Prince asked his question.
"Who of us should take the potion, you or me? Step back on your lilypad for you and forward for me. What do you say?" Dorothy instantly knew what this meant and didn't think twice. She stepped forward and the Prince took the potion. And with a flash, the Prince became a beautiful purple frog and dived into the pond, with Dorothy diving off her lilypad after him.
